It is strongly recommended that you do not use or expose any of the following onto the tattooed area: Chlorine, Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, Glycolic acid, Apple Cider Vinegar, Vitamin E and C, Retinol, and microdermabrasion. These products can lighten or fade your tattoo faster.
It is also recommended to apply sunscreen daily as UV rays will deteriorate the pigment and lighten or fade the tattoo faster as well.
If you are having any laser or facial beauty treatments please inform your technician prior to the start of the procedures that you have a cosmetic tattoo. Inked by Denisse is not responsible for any changes made to your cosmetic tattoo in its reaction to any additional services you may receive.
It is important to note that all cosmetic tattoos fade after 1-3 years depending on your skin and lifestyle.
The area will feel a bit sore and you may experience some swelling. The immediate result will appear darker and thicker than expected. Some clients will experience a sensation comparable to that of a mild sunburn. Do not panic! This is a completely normal part of the initial stages of healing.
A Deluxe Aftercare Kit will be provided at your initial appointment at no extra cost. Please note that the products included in your Deluxe Aftercare Kit have been meticulously curated and it is essential that the products be used as instructed for optimal healed results. Do not apply makeup, skincare, lotions, etc to the tattooed area for 2 weeks. No products, besides those included in your Deluxe Aftercare Kit, should touch the area for the initial 2 weeks post-procedure.
You may ice the area if it is feeling tender or swollen using a soft gel ice pack wrapped in a napkin. Ice packs can be applied for 10 minutes each hour for the first 4-8 hours following the procedure. After the first 24 hours, the use of ice is no longer beneficial.
Do not pick or scratch off any scabs. Picking/scratching can cause scarring, loss of pigment, or an infection.
Do not allow the tattooed area to be submerged in water or get wet other than to follow the cleansing instruction. This includes showering, sweating, swimming, sauna, etc.
Do not expose the tattooed area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks. Sun exposure can dramatically alter the appearance of your tattoo.
Do not get any facials, Botox, chemical treatments, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks post-procedure.
Do not sleep on the treatment area to avoid lifting your scabs prematurely and make sure you’re sleeping on clean bedding to avoid infection.
Please note, that the true vibrancy of your cosmetic or paramedical tattoo is achieved once the healing process is complete (6-8 weeks after the initial appointment). During the healing process, you will experience a slight loss in color before it begins to regenerate as your skin naturally exfoliates.
Please see the table below for detailed instructions on how to cleanse and care for your tattoo during the active healing stage.
